Rebuilding Together
can provide repairs free of charge to elderly and disabled
homeowners. Low-income, elderly (over the age of 62) or disabled
homeowners in Richmond, San Pablo, Alameda, Albany, Berkeley and Emeryville who are not able to
complete the work themselves are eligible, as are non-profit facilities
serving low-income clients.
Various neighborhood groups, service providers, civic organizations,
senior centers, churches, and synagogues refer homeowners to us.
Individual homeowners may also request applications. After a preliminary
application has been submitted, a home visit is made to interview
the homeowner and evaluate the required work. Then, a volunteer
committee of neighborhood leaders and skilled trades people review
the applications and reports to select the most appropriate homes. |
