Who Says You Can’t Make an Impact From a Distance?

Rebuilding Together East Bay-North has been dedicated to housing equity for the past 30 years – and we’re still here! In Covid-times, we at RTEBN have had to get creative with how we continue our work, including finding that a tape measure is useful for both construction and public health. At our latest project, a small group of socially-distancing volunteers fixed up the access ramp at this multigenerational home in Berkeley. This ramp had been damaged to the point of being unusable, and homeowner Lenore’s sons needed to carry her up or down the stairs to the home. Now, Lenore can enter and exit her own home safely without assistance! A huge thank you to our lovely volunteers, and a special congratulations to our long-time Rebuilding leader, Roger Behnken, for capping two decades of service with this project!
